One and Only Handmade Marketplace

The little towns along Ontario’s Grand River are full of history and great little shops and restaurants. If you’re visiting Elmira or Elora this summer be sure to go a little further upstream to Fergus.

While you’re there pop in to the newly opened One and Only Handmade Marketplace. They’re carrying a special selection of Forest Floor Pottery among many unique and memorable items.

p.s. They’re also right next door to a gourmet chocolate shop!

A Special Commission

Not long ago Kristen received a request to make a custom piggy bank as a gift for a little girl named Nora. It’s a busy time getting ready for spring but she was happy to do something unique.

Nora’s piggy started much like many others do; the flower details were part of the commission.

As was the vibrant glaze.

But the most special feature is Nora’s name below piggy’s tail!

Interested in having a custom piggy bank, birdhouse, serving dishes, or set of mugs made on commission?

Artisan Market Recap

Sunday was a beautiful day for the Dundas Artisan Market!

There was a great turnout, over 50 artists, and perfect weather. Chatting with so many people and sharing some new work for the first time made it even better. The organizers do an amazing job of making it easy for both vendors and shoppers. It’s a highlight of every year.

Next up for Forest Floor is another great show; Just Christmas at ForestView Church in Oakville on November 11th. Kristen also has some special commissioned work to complete for the holidays. Contact her if there’s something you’d like to order for a loved one, friend, or client.

When a close friend asks for a custom piece to celebrate her beloved husband’s birthday it is a special combination of privilege and pressure.

Steve is delighted with what Sandy had Kristen produce.

This day long festival of roots music, headlined by Hamilton’s own Arkells and featuring the legendary Gordon Lightfoot, also showcases artists, food vendors, and local farms in an effort to highlight the interconnectedness of all aspects of this wonderful environmental region.

With two music stages, dozens of displays, and a gorgeous natural setting the Harvest Picnic has established itself on the music, art, agriculture, and environment communities over the past five years.

Make sure you drop by the Forest Floor booth to see some of Kristen’s newest pieces and say Hi.
